I forgot to advise that the pg offline software should be set up to download so many messages and then pause for a while.

I have a pretty fast link and I have it set to download 1000 messages and then wait for 5 minutes.

It takes a while to download the first set (of 18000) but then any ensuing ones would be very fast.

I'm not sure how much time I can spend helping support another support area -- we already have this which is supposed to be peer to peer and our premier one which is the helpdesk.  I would try but can't promise.

I've seen the phpbb forums -- not sure if they support files area such as Yahoo Groups.  And sometimes I have a hard time finding things there.  And, of course, then there is the email messages vs having to actually go to the forum or subscribe to a thread.

Do you all realize that yahoo does try to thread the messages?  This shows up easily from web view.  I think it shows up in fully featured and to some extent in the digest forms.
