Thank you all, I followed your advise and finally succeed to run parametric runs with various values.
What I did was for a variety if insulation thicknesses (2,5,7,10,12 cm). Now, I want to try something else. How can I run a parametric simulations of different insulation types/materials (rubber, polystrene, rockwool) please advise, Shady

A recent addition to EnergyPlus utiltiies -- the Parameteric preprocessor
is one way to accomplish this. ParametricInsulation-5ZoneAirCooled.idf is in the included ExampleFiles. Objects to look for are: Parametric:SetValueForRun Parametric:RunControl Parametric:Logic the Parametric Preprocessor is documented in the Auxiliary Programs document. There are at least two other example files that use these. Which EnergyPlus Example File has... Two links from the installation: Example Files Summary Sheet - highlights each example file Example Files Link to Objects - shows the first three example files (if that many exist) that have a particular object. You can also accomplish parametric runs with the EPMacro preprocessor. EP-Launch can be used in this method to run a user set number of runs.
