[EnergyPlus_Support] Failing to manually cross-check Design Heating Load against E+result

Hi E+ users,

I created a simple model with four walls, a roof and a floor. No doors or windows. No Infiltration or ventilation.

I use summer and winter design day data and HVACTemplate:IdealLoadsAirSystem to obtain the Design Heating Load. I want to cross-check the result with the Heating Load calculation procedure found in ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals, Ch. 17 and Ch. 18 but I get different results.

I also searched some previous posts in the group about how to estimate the heat loss through the building envelope and I found http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/EnergyPlus_Support/message/17303 which I tried but still can't get the same result for the Design Heating Load as the one that E+ reports.

What am I doing wrong and which would be the best approach to find the heat losses through the exterior walls, roof and floor of the building?
