Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Internal Mass approximations

I think we are talking about what DesignBuilder calls by "Zone Multiplier", is it possible?

May I have another hint, please?

Searches in the Help files for ?Space multiplier?, ?Spacemultiplier?, and ?multiplier? don?t bring up anything useful?.

Thanks!

In this case you use a "space multiplier"

Dear E+ forum, To date, I have not tried to combine zones on different
floors. Instead, I model separate zones for each floor. As I begin a 12
story structure model, I realize that the energy model will produce
essentially the same results if I model, for example, the North zone on
all 12 floors as a single zone ... except that the combined 12 floors
have a lot more mass for floors, walls and furniture than a single zone.
It appears that the "InternalMass" object is a simple way to include
more mass and is easily done for floors. I'm wondering: 1) Have others
used this approach? 2) How do you account for internal walls? furniture
and office equipment? 3) Any cautions? Thanks in advance.
