[EnergyPlus_Support] Energy Recovery Units and Fan Power
Hello,
I'm a little confused about how the additional fan power consumption associated with use of an energy recovery unit (HeatExchanger:AirToAir) is taken into account in EnergyPlus. In the example files where the air to air heat exchanger is used as an energy recovery device, the airloop is set up similar to in the attached image. In this case, does the AirLoopHVAC fan have to overcome the additional pressure drop of the heat exchanger on both the supply and exhaust sides? Where is this pressure drop specified? And how do I specify a different pressure drop for times when the economizer is active and outdoor air bypasses the heat exchanger?
Thanks,
Karen
