Plenums with ceiling diffusers are supposed to be objects of supply and return air paths of air loops unless you're modeling UFAD systems. Therefore algorithms computing surface convection coefficients should be specified for such special zones as i explained before. if your errors are not related to that you're on the safe side. Best.

Also keep in mind that, plenum zones in EnergyPlus should have "Ceiling Diffuser" assignment as Zone Inside Convection Algorithm. Required changes can be made under Thermal Zones and Surfaces >> Zone >> Zone Inside Convection Algorithm >>"Ceiling Diffuse". Check out if your errors are related to this field or not.

In E+, you can remove the plenum zone from Sizing:Zone and ZoneControl:Thermostat. After that, you can follow errors/warnings (if any) to further debug your idf.
