[EnergyPlus_Support] holes between two Zones

I got a 3 stories house to model in EPlus.
Between the 2nd and the 3rd floor there are stairs and another large opening (7x5 meters).

I think there is two ways to do so:
1. Making the two floors in the same zone and only add the remaining celling/floor for the thermal mass but...

The area of this house is very very hot and I think there will be big big difference between the two floors and the top one will be much hotter.

2 If I make it as two deferent zones, How do I make the hole?
Is void transfer heat? light? air? of do I need to make a window?
what is the best way for it and what do I need to do for air distribution?

Is there any model in the example file that I can check?
