You can use a JPG and a fill for a rectangle. The trick is to size a base rectangle proportional to the JPG resolution and the proper size to scale the model. Then create a new surface from the jpg image and scale it until it just fits. I do recall that sometimes when I do this the image is pasted to the down side and appears backwards, but you can fix that by making a box rather than a flat surface. Ned Lyon, P.E. (MA) SIMPSON GUMPERTZ & HEGER From: EnergyPlus_Support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:EnergyPlus_Support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mohammed AlZain Hi I have some 2D-floor plans for homes. In image formats like “jpg”. I would like to transform them into 3D plans using Google sketchup 8 or any other similar software. The problem is that I can not do that directly using the copy-past procedure because Google sketchup dose not accept “jpg” format. Is there a way to convert 2D-floor plans in image formats like “jpg” to that acceptable by Google sketchup. NOTE: the 2D-floor plans are given to me like that. It is very time consuming re-produce them in any other format.
