Dear Jiju Kin,

A packaged single zone heat pump is always DX cooling and DX heating, and sometimes also uses a supplemental electric heating coil.  (The DX heating cannot work properly below ~5C for most designs (from manufacturer information), so the electric heating is used when the outdoor temperature is below that.

I understand this to be a "through the wall" AC unit typically switchable from heating to cooling...not sure if the fluid medium is water or a four pipe system with a combination or if it's dx cooling with electric heating. The latter is likely in hot climates. Anyone else?

Maybe 90.1 has a definition at the front.
