RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Please help me!!!

HI, Giovanni

I did not reply to you earlier, because I was looking for the location and the weather file to do the simulation.

You have 3 zones and 84 building surfaces.  No dxf was produced.  I have no idea at present what are the duplicated zone names.

I am trying to re-open the file in SketchUp and see what is in there.  So far not succesful yet.  Please check the building and solar panel input again.  The panels may not have the same name as the zones.

You need not use any system or plant templates to enter the zone baseboard water heaters with is to be connecte to the water tank.

SolarCollectorFlatPlateWater.idf should provide the collector and tank connections.

Connect the zone heater to the use side of the tank, in place of the showers, etc, and return heater outlet to the circulating  pump of the tank directly without the water main supply.

Run the example file first and see whether you can follow all the branches in the IDF.  The order of the listing of the branches must be maintained the same in your IDF>

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Please help me!!!

Hi!

I wrote here and to all of you many times but I don't know how to do by myself so I ask another time your help...

I am an Italian student and I am trying to use EnergyPlus and Google SketchUp (with openStudio) to study the heating requirements of a small health center in Tanzania for an international cooperation project by Engineers without Borders.

I had the results of my simulation (zone mean air temperature and sensible heating energy).

I want to have never less than 20°C.

Now I have to put in each zone (three in total) of the building a very simple heating system:

- a solar collector to warm water during the day

- a 2,000 liters barrel to store the water

- coils (simple coils, not fancoils because there's no electricity..) inside the building to warm the zones during the night with the hot water stored in the day...

after that I will add a pump and a valve to control the plant

I am trying to do it editing the IDF with no succes.

I made a New Obj in "Coil:Heating:Water" without results;

then I added  a  new solar collector but I don?t know how to add the 2,000 liters barrel to store the water?and mainly I don?t know how to create a unique heating system (I am studying the InputOutputReference guide, but I don?t understand which is the correct way to follow [I think I made confusion without understanding the correct use of branchlist, nodelist, plantloop? which is the correct instrument to create my very simple heating plant?])

Can someone give  me a piece of advice, or some steps to follow? I don?t know how to complete my work?

(I attach the idf file)

thank you

Giovanni
