I may be wrong.
I thought the difference in temperature values between the MRT and zone mean temperature is an indication of the proportion of radiation in the zone, including the internal radiating source. The solar radiation in a zone through windows is listed separately as you have mentioned. Dear group,
What is the best way to report opaque envelope transmission rate in Watt? That is, the energy from outside the zone has two sources, the sun and the ODA. How much of this endless pool of energy is transmitted into the zone is dependant on many, many factors. For example, the conduction path of energy through a one layer wall: The conduction rate is dependant on the dT between the inside and outside wall surfaces, which are inturn dependant on material properties, radiation properties, convection on the surfaces, etc. My question is, is the "zone" defined as the air volume inside the walls and therefore the energy transfer into the zone means into the air volume which in turn means using the "surface convection rate - sum for the zone" is the correct report variable to use? This would include beam-direct and beam-diffuse radiation that has shone through a window and heated up a surface. I would need to subtract this amount to "split" the values. As James stated earlier, describing what is happening is challanging. __._,_.___ Primary EnergyPlus support is found at: http://energyplus.helpserve.com or send a message to energyplus-support@xxxxxxxx The primary EnergyPlus web site is found at: http://www.energyplus.gov The group web site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EnergyPlus_Support/ Attachments are currently allowed but be mindful that not everyone has a high speed connection.
