Dear Jean, I suspect that there is a lot of potential to discuss the methods which are used by energy modelers to evaluate their output. An entire conference track, perhaps? Here are a couple of thoughts on how I go about review: · I do not look at sizing outputs much and do not use the “..Ssz.csv” or “..Zsz.csv” files at all, except in rare cases. Rather, I call for various of the SummaryReports, including the HVACSizingSummary, EquipmentSummary, SystemSummary and ComponentSizingSummary. Fast, nicely formatted, and the HTML version has links so I can jump around to different sections. Blessed with ~35 years of HVAC experience, I have a reasonable feel for something that looks way out of line ... but I am not using these reports for load calculations or envelope performance research, just a sense of load magnitudes and relationships. I also copy the airflows and capacities of autosized systems to a separate spreadsheet table which calculates for me what a DX coil COP should be in order to obtain a desired system EER / COP (for ASHRAE 90.1 compliance). · The principal .csv file that I use (other than the Table file mentioned above) is the one which contains all of the Report Variables output. This is only created if you specify Output:Variables. I generally specify the Timestep frequency, but don’t really know why J. · &nb
