[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Heating/Cooling load
Thank you so much for your help!
I have run the simulation with HVACTemperlate:Zone:IdealLoadsAirSystem. It works great. But I wonder that there are only sensible heating/cooling rates in the output. How did you get the latent heating/cooling load?
Another question is about the object OtherEquipment.I think it helps my job.I unterstand this method like this, that I should myself put in several Design Levels, then run the simulation and see whether the temperature reachs the thermostat I want or not. Is my understanding right? What should I input for the Fraction Latent and Fraction Radiant?
I am very greatful for your help.

You must first be aware that there are many objects that you can add to introduce gain into a zone from lights, equipment, etc. Find that section in the Input Output Referance documentation. The object that you want is called EquipmentOther or OtherEquipment (can't remember exactly). Here is the trick: For a negative value to work you have to sometimes make a small adjustment in another file found in your eplus installation folder called the .idd file (look for this extention). This file describes (amongst others) what values are allowed to be entered in the various fields of objects such as EquipmentOther. In this file you must find the EqipmentOther object and its input field for the Wattage that corrisponds to where you would input the negative load. Change the default setting to also accept negative values. This is perfectly fine as this object is designed for this (has been used to simulate refridgeration display cabinets in the past). Run simulation with the EquipmentOther used to "take" load from a zone. As far as I remember, it can also take latent load from a zone. I used this once to model the effect of fan coils without having to setup the eplus fancoil objects (which require a lot more work) when I was just starting with eplus.

I'm sure by the time I've written a macro that adds this zone equipment and connects it flawlessly to the plant with automatic branch creation and insertion into said plant mixer splitter list and branch lists, not to mention creating the interzone surface and reverse surface with correct dimensions and constructions, by the time I've coded such a macro, e+ will have brought out a update with an easy template. I know a baseboard radiator template exists, but if you're a begginer stay away from embedded concrete or panel systems. Instead, just use the equipment gains with negative values and be wary of dew point temperature in the zone not falling below 16 deg C.
