[EnergyPlus_Support] Floor Plan to Model - Floor Areas

I've used Design Builder to generate geometry. In Design Builder you must specify a width for the exterior walls and a width for interior partitions.

The architectual layouts show differing wall thicknesses, resulting in a different floor area, than that of my model.

To achieve the best geometric fit, I've set my walls as thin as possible in Design Builder, listed the floor areas and volumes and compared them to those of the floor plans.

I can adjust the volume, but not the floor area in e+.

I must justify the discrepancy to the LEED reviewers.

How do other people deal with this? What other workflows do they use?
