Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Heating/Cooling load

I'm confused with the following 2 groups of outputs.

1)Output:Variable,*,Zone/Sys Sensible Heating Rate,hourly; !- HVAC Average [W]
Output:Variable,*,Zone/Sys Sensible Cooling Rate,hourly; !- HVAC Average [W]

2) Output:Variable,*,Ideal Loads Air Heating Rate,hourly; !- HVAC Average [W]

Output:Variable,*,Ideal Loads Air Sensible Cooling Rate, hourly; !- HVAC Average [W]
Output:Variable,*,Ideal Loads Air Total Cooling Rate, hourly; !- HVAC Average [W]

Could anyone tell the difference? Thanks!

Well, for summer time conditioning you "need" to know both sensible and latent part of cooling rate/load! Latent part comes from
elements like people, outdoor air infiltration to zone, equipment, etc. So, if you add up Sensible and Latent, you'll get Total Cooling Rate!
Or, in this case if you subtract them, you'll get only the Latent part of total load. If I'm not mistaken, this latent part is sometimes called
Dehumdification Load! Hope this helps..

Cheers
Boby
