I know that the EPlus make sure that the window area is smaller than the wall area.
The WWR ratio is used by the grading program to simplify calculation. The formula may not be as you have stated, which will make the ration larger than one. I never use it, because it does not include many energy saving features, such as shading, view factor, etc. Dr. Li To: EnergyPlus_Support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx From: jeannieboef@xxxxxxxxx Date: Wed, 26 Oct 2011 17:11:44 +0000 Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] WWR
Window to Wall Ratio for Vertical Fenestration
Does e+ calculate this as WWR = the total exterior vertical window and glass door area / total exterior wall area (excluding doors, windows and other sub-surfaces)? What does ASHRAE 90.1 mean by 40% WWR? Are they the same? __._,_.___ Primary EnergyPlus support is found at: http://energyplus.helpserve.com or send a message to energyplus-support@xxxxxxxx The primary EnergyPlus web site is found at: http://www.energyplus.gov The group web site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EnergyPlus_Support/ Attachments are currently allowed but be mindful that not everyone has a high speed connection.
