I belive that the heat pump object itself has fields to turn off in the heating mode and turn on the auxiliry heaters.

Dear Forum,
I'm unable so far to figure out how to disable a DX coil in cold weather. The AvailabilityManager:LowTemperatureTurnOFF seems to be the right tool for the job, but it's not doing anything the way I've configured it. The short story is this: * I want the Heat Pump to be available on one schedule (with fan running) * and its DX coil to be UNavailable when the outdoor temp <12.8C * I've made a separate schedule which is always "1" called "SchCpct_LowTempClgOFF" and assigned that schedule to the DX coil Shown below is what I've done so far. Please let me know what I am missing! (For the record, the IO Reference and example files aren't clear to me. They seem to say that the manager affects a schedule, not a component) AvailabilityManagerAssignmentList AvMgrLIST_DX_BaseSys2-11 AvailabilityManager:LowTemperatureTurnOFF CoolingLowTempOFF_02-12-North AvailabilityManager:LowTemperatureTurnOFF, CoolingLowTempOFF_02-12-North, NodeIn_OA_BaseSys2-11, 12.8, SchCpct_LowTempClgOFF; AirLoopHVAC:UnitaryHeatPump:AirToAir, AirLoop_UnitCool1_BaseSys2-11, SchCpct_FanHotelASHRAEstd, !
