[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Automation building

The controls for simulation are in the IDF. These are mostly in the form of schedules and system availability. Does this fit into your definition of Automation building? 

The sensor detects the controlled variable, eg. temperature, sends signals to a actuate a variable, eg. the stem of a valve, which then manipulates eg flow. The controller may have PI or PID modes.  

If you are modelling a building that already has a Building Management system (BMS), i think we have to interpret the controls inside the BMS then put these into the Schedules or System Availability
