Hi,
I am just new to EnergyPlus. I am doing the energy modeling for the renovation of an existing 2 storey terrace commercial/residential building. So far I have built the building in SketchUp to roughly how I think the thermal zones would best be modeled, but so far without the windows and shading. I drew these based on architectual plans in pdf.
I have looked at many of the OpenStudio tutorials, but I am still unsure how best to proceed.
For example I could start with an empty model (everything hidden), then add each SketchUp room individually, cut them, add a thermal zone and then Edit: paste in place.
I could do this for every thermal zone, do the surface matching, geo-location, etc. and then after that add the fenestration and shading.
Is this the best way to proceed? Or would I be better to do it another way?
One problem I have had while trying to do it this way is if I make a mistake in the geometry of a thermal zone I haven't been able to undo it. I there a special way to do this?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Jack
