RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Blinds not referenced by windows

There are three parts in defining a blind operation. (not including the schedules)

1) in the material and construction
2) in the window object itself to define the control to use.
3) the blind control. (WindowProperty:ShadingControl:)

It is possible that the other two parts were not defined.

The window object you use may be different.  But there is a field for the control.  If this is left out as blank, the blind, if defined in construction,  would be left open.

The same control may be used for all the windows.

======================
There are more than one way to define the construction and control.  These are described in detail in the I/O Manual.  The error message will tell you wither the construction and window object were declared correctly.Hope this would hel;.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Blinds not referenced by windows

Dear All,
I ve been trying to introduce the use of blinds in order to reduce the cooling loads of a ground floor house and i keep getting the warning:
GetSurfaceData: WindowProperty:ShadingControl: "BLIND" is not referenced by any window. The window material:blind was taken by the Energy Plus Library and then i created an object in WindowProperty:ShadingControl. Taking into consideration that i have done everything according to the input/output reference where it is mentioned that Window property:shading control is referenced by windows and glass doors, I can not think of anything wrong. I could use your valuable advices. Thank you very much.
