RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Zone mean temperature...

I have attached the error file running your IDF ver.6.0 in the DesignDay sizing mode.  You did not have the Site Location specified.  I assume it is Singapore.

Can you understand the error messages listed?

When you are getting a fatel error in the IDF, do not expect any good result.

I am not sure whether you have up loaded the correct IDF.

Hi Dr Li,

I have uploaded a file titled synergy HVAC. Could you please take a look and explain the sizing problem? It would really solve my trouble in getting the correct zone mean temperature.

Best regards,
Sky Lo

The quick solution for "zone set point not met" is to increasing the sizing multiplier for the VAV fan, so that the VAV damper setting at Unity has a larger air flow to the zone, to cool the return air at the AHU. Adjusting the chiller size usually has no effect, as the problem is not a limitation of the cooling supply. It is a problem that the VAV fan cannot increase its flow rate to extract more cooling capacity from the cooling coil to meet the zone demand, when the zone VAV damper is opened to its maximum..===================="zone uncomfortable" is not the same as "zone setpoint not met". However, they can be related when the ZMT is set to the limit of the comfort range.

I tried to adjust the thermostat but the zone mean temperature didnt not change. May i ask how and what i should do to get the desired result?
