How about:
· Acknowledging that the actual system will do exactly as your model suggests (operate at 100% until it meets the occupied period set point)
If the actual system has provisions for gradual startup, it might be accomplished by:
· Limiting which systems can operate (a demand limiting scheme)
· Ramping the zone setpoints gradually from their unoccupied values to the occupied values
· (If you have a VAV system) ramping the fan maximum speed gradually so it cannot call for 100% all at once.
I’m just brainstorming; I have not seen any of these except the demand limiting and have not modeled any of them
