Ramping the temperature up over 3-4 hours in your schedules would help prevent this spike.
Another way to control it is to use the 'Timesteps in Averaging Window' (In the Sizing:Parameters object) to 2 hours or so. This can be used to prevent the system from bringing the temperature up all the way in a single timestep.
