Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] No Cooling load during the summer

For your google spreadsheet to be accessible to all you need to set it to either "public on the web" or "anyone with the link"

Glad to see more are using google...

Dear all,

I have attached a rudimentary model that has a core zone and a plenum zone.

The core is conditioned with a dual setpoint thermostat (20 heating, 25 cooling).

However, upon running an annual simulation for Greenville, the indoor mean air temperature never reaches 25 degrees. It seems very strange that there be no cooling load during the summer (even without internal loads). I also tried running the simulation for different climates but end up with the same scenario, as in no cooling required over the summer.

I have attached, a) an image of the building
                        b) .idf file
                        c) Greenville weather file

(Please click on Gadget 3 to visualize the core temperature profiles for different climates)

I imagine since the plenum floor (Acoustic tile) is the core ceiling (Acoustic tile), something might be wrong in my definition. Not sure about what is going on, especially since I have matched the surfaces and checked it as well.

I would be grateful to hear from anyone about what I am missing here? pointers, suggestions, constructive criticisms are all welcome.

Thanking you,
