[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Question to Slab program
Thanks for the help, Neal.
It seems we have a -4m water level in Berlin. Our deep ground temps stop varying at about -20 m across Germany and pan out at about 9 degC (this is for open country). I did a rough steady state excel calc to check my results...they all seem okay. And guess what? Room Temperature - 4 deg C. Where the experts here are all using 10 deg C as the slab bottom boundry temp. It appears to hang together with the inside boundry air layer thickness to which one applies the 4 to 10 W/(m² K) downward and/or upward convection-radiation coefficient.
In the RoomAirModel that I'm using (ThreeNodeDisplacementVentilation) the floor (air) region is 0.2 meters deep. When I use 0.2 m in my steady state excel calc I get 16.25 deg C on the bottom of the slab. The slab program gave 17.5. This is a good result for me.
I'm using the maximum slab thickness for the autogrid. 307 mm. My slab is infact 630 mm. I guess I should use the manual setup?
