Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: To openstudio users...

AECOsim Energy Simulator (AES) from Bentley Systems is a full-featured graphic interface for EnergyPlus.  It is built on Bentley's BIM platform, Microstation, and can easily import BIM and XML formats for easy geometry creation.

AES automates the creation of ASHRAE Standard 90.1 and 62.1 -compliant baseline and budget building models (2004, 2007, 2010 versions) and also allows users to calculate heat gain and loss using ASHRAE methods.

AES has 28 preconfigured HVAC systems including all the required 90.1 systems. These preconfigured HVAC systems include all the required EnergyPlus objects (spliter, mixer, branch, node, equipment) which allow users to tweak all the HVAC system inputs. Users can modify the preconfigured HVAC systems to match their own requirements and save them for future use.

AES automatically creates an EnergyPlus IDF at the time of simulation, allowing the user to review and modify the IDF outside of AES.

To see more on AES, go to Bentley's web site:  www.bentley.com/en-US/Products/AECOsim+Energy+Simulator/   Web site also includes a link to our white paper on Utilizing gbXML with AECOsim Building Designer and speedikon.

If you want to see AES in use, go to our YouTube channel:  www.youtube.com/user/EnergySimulator

A new release of AES is planned for late this summer with a Conceptual Modeler, access to all the EnergyPlus summary and monthly reports, enhanced gbXML import, many more HVAC systems, and a number of other features.

Design Builder version 3.0(?) has the detailed HVAC.

I am not sure if OS 0.7.0 has much more capability in modeling HVAC than 0.6.0.  See Jeremiah's post from yesterday.

There is always the IDF Editor and straight modeling of HVAC in EnergyPlus.

Bentley Aecosim also has a detailed HVAC option.

Hello Linda,
what about openstudio v. 0.7.0 ? :-)
I used DesignBuilder and now I need a more flexible tool, in particular to model hvac plants.
Best Regards
