Dear forum, I have avoided the UtilityCost objects too long (I might be proven wrong on this, however) I have studied some of the example files, and the concept seems straightforward, but implementation does not seem so straightforward, so I am hoping for some counsel by others who have explored them. Two questions: 1. What is a “source variable”? I can find nothing in the documentation about this that makes sense to me. The names in the example files seem to be either user-created or a reserved name for which I can find no list. (This is a field in the UtilityCost:Charge:Simple object) 2. Any “words of wisdom” about what to do or not do with these objects? Making me think…. Why is it? We routinely use miracles of creativity and technology that 50-100 years ago would be considered impossible or black magic … and also assume that whole segments of society are incapable of helping themselves or acting intelligently. Is it a self-fulfilling expectation? __._,_.___ Primary EnergyPlus support is found at: http://energyplus.helpserve.com or send a message to energyplus-support@xxxxxxxx The primary EnergyPlus web site is found at: http://www.energyplus.gov The group web site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EnergyPlus_Support/ Attachments are currently allowed but be mindful that not everyone has a high speed connection.
