[EnergyPlus_Support] Can we size equipment using an energy model
Hey everybody,
So I am looking to size a Heat Exchanger for a HHW system to replace the current steam coil in a building. Basically I am curious if I can use my energy model to do this.
Currently from actual metering data we have a max BTu/hr use of ~350,000 BTu/hr. This includes transmission losses from our central plant, the steam to liquid DHW HX, a steam powered dish washer, and a the central air handler.
We currently have one central steam coil but I am looking to size 5 separate HHW coils for the zones and a central HHW HX. To get what the capacity of these coils would need to be I am curious what the best values to use would be. If I look at the HTML Output file under the Sizing Summary - Zone Heating would the calculated Design Load be what the peak heating load of the zone is?
Or is the proper btu/hr found in the Equipment Summary - Heating Coils - Nominal Capacity?
