RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Burner Efficiency

Dear Simge,

I am fairly sure that you are correct: “Gas Burner Efficiency” is the steady state, peak capacity efficiency.

I think you will need to research the definition of AFUE from AHRI, ASHRAE or whichever organization created the term.

(I have never tried to convert from one to the other.)

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Burner Efficiency

Dear EnergyPlus Users,

Would you please let me know which efficiency is meant by the "Gas Burner Efficiency" under the Coil:Heating:Gas class of EnergyPlus? Is this the steady-state efficiency of the gas furnace or the AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency)? Would you please advice on how to reasonably convert 78% AFUE to "Gas Burner Efficiency" input of EnergyPlus?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Best Regards,
