Hi, Ooi
What is "people mean radiant temperature" ? Is it the MRT when people are present? I am wondering whether you shuld look at the MRT and zone MT at two different time steps to compare as wel. Both of them are averaged values, so the hourly values may never match. Turn on a light for a few time steps and then turn it off. Investigate whether the MDT change is immediate or delayed by one time step, after the schedule change.. I have never look at the differences in detail. I assumed the MRT is the radiation part of the heat component which has not been "well stirred" into the zone mean air temperature by convection. Eventually, the raidation portion is absorbed by the wall surfaces, when these sourccs are not active. People, Light, and equipment are at different temperatures in the zone. The different would show as MRT in every time step. I am thinking of the MRT measureing probe operation in your BS1. In a zone, the floor is usually cooler in Summer. Is this the reason why the MRT is usually higher than ZMAT? Oscar,
The Zone average radiant temperature and the Surface Weighted MRT will be the same if the temperatures of all the six surfaces are the same. This is based on the definitions given in Engineering Reference regards ooi --- In EnergyPlus_Support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, oscar hernandez <oscarhernandez_81@...> wrote: > > > Hi Energyplus users, > > I have a question about the MRT thermal comfort. When I used the Surface weighted (people mean radiant temperature) in order to calculate the relation between surface temperature and people I have the same result. The Mean Radiant Temperature it's the same all the time (Zone average and surface weigted). > > Thank you for your help. > > Oscar. > __._,_.___ Primary EnergyPlus support is found at: http://energyplus.helpserve.com or send a message to energyplus-support@xxxxxxxx The primary EnergyPlus web site is found at: http://www.energyplus.gov The group web site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EnergyPlus_Support/ Attachments are currently allowed but be mindful that not everyone has a high speed connection.
