[EnergyPlus_Support] E+ performance on Windows 7 64 bit much worse than in XP 32 bit

I am running batches of 13 simulations and I noticed a serious degradation of EnergyPlus performance under Windows 7. The two machines used are:
Machine 1: Intel Core Duo T9600 2.8GHz, 4.00 GB ram, Windows 7 64 bit

Machine 2: Intel Core i5-250M   2.5GHz, 2.98 GB ram, Windows XP 32 bit

Ran the same batch of 13 simulations. From the eio files:

What is the meaning of the fours versus the twos in the first column?
Anything I could do to improve EnergyPlus performance under Win7?
