I agree with Jason that this could simply down to your new laptop is better than the old (the new Core Is are much faster than the Core2Duos). From my earlier experience, the 32bit E+ is faster than the 64bit version. Windows versions may play a role, too; but to that I have no idea.
The thing made me concerned is the second line for each machine, e.g. “Program Control:Threads/Parallel Sims, Yes,2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 158, 1”. According to the header of .eio as Linda has indicated, the ‘2’ before ‘158’ is the actual number of threads used in the simulation, despite that the model was instructed to use only one thread. Why is that?
OMP in E+ 7.1 only benefits large (and complex) models. For the models we are normally dealing with, the threads used, the slower the simulations get. Earlier Ivan did an example using the low energy hospital model from the E+ package, which is not a pretty picture, as the trend is all wrong ;-)
