Jeremiah,
At this point I would also, just for the sake of it, try defining the window directly into the .idf file as opposed to copying it from DB into Eplus, and running it? Unless, the DB produced a .idf file and you copied the object from the .idf file. I have not worked across the DB and Eplus platforms so I do not know the work flow between the two.Niraj

Niraj, Linda, NedSo I opened my file in open studio to see if there was a window there (before I started trying to understand how the vertices related to each other and found that the daylight sensor was outside of the space, and that the window was in the right place....The strange thing is now I try to change where the daylight sensor is located but that does not fix the issue-

I just came across that- and it is "relative" for both the source file I took the window from and the file I am trying to use it within.Jeremiah D. Crossett | Senior Analyst | Phase Change Energy Solutions120 E. Pritchard St. | Asheboro, NC 27203 | Mobile 503-688-8951

Jeremiah,
Do you have your "rectangular surface coordinate system" in the GlobalGeometryRules object defined in the "relative" or the "absolute" co-ordinate system?I think that is what Linda is alluding to. I might be wrong.Niraj--On Thu, Aug 30, 2012 at 7:13 PM, Jeremiah Crossett <jcrossett@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Sorry to be "dumb" but I do not quite understand the question- do you mean relative to the building surface detailed?

Do you have relative coordinates? Such that when turned to "absolute" you have this?

Thank you for your avise- Now I am not sure what approach to take as the funny thing is that the origonal db file did not have any issue with this window:

I found the issue, I pasted a window in place from a DB file, and it was rejected- BUT I can not understand why? the vertices's look like they are in the right place-and I want the change the window like I have many times before... Any advise?
