[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Add/Change Natural ventilation model
This is the purpose of EMS. You can write your own code to act on the program. For example you define a simple ventilation object that ventilates as per a defined schedule through a window in the normal e+ idf. You then write and EMS code to modifiy the schedule (how much the air flow is) based on sensor conditions...see the documentation and examples.
However, I think you are trying to re-invent the wheel somewhat. Models for natural ventilation have been researched and developed over the last 60 years and really a lot of work and money has been pumped into this. COMMIS and DOE started off around the same time. I suggest you look into the Air Flow Network (AFN) part of e+, which has amalgimated much of COMMIS and other models and algorithms. Even then if you are still not 100% happy, you could slightly tweek these object's schedules with EMS.
In my opinion, natural ventilation is one of the hardest parts of e+ to get a handle on (not just in e+...it is a difficalt subject). And, in my opinion, does not play a important role for energy consumption in most mechanically ventilated buildings. If your building is 100% naturally ventilated, it plays a very important part.
Windpressure coeffecients should be generated by a CFD program, but there are built in simplified algorithms to do this as well.
Hopefully you return with more questions,
Jean

I wonder if it is possible to modify the code in the original file? I haven't received the source code yet so I wonder if this is applicable
