RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Indirect Water Heater + Cogen

Follow the solar panel configuration in the I/O Manual or example, the second instantaneous water heater should be able to use any heating source.

Please note that the Water heater and water storage tank have diferent properties.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Indirect Water Heater + Cogen

Hello All,

I am working on a project where I am having to model an Indirect Water Heater for Domestic Hot Water purpose. I have modeled this as it should be by connecting the Water Heater branch in the Hot Water Boiler demand loop and specifying source side node connection in the Water Heater object.

Now my questions is - If I have a MicroCHP in the project, which is also dumping heat into the Domestic Hot Water branch, how would I go about using this heat recovered from the MicroCHP loop to assist in DHW along with the indirect water heater connections?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Vinay
