Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] ZoneAirHeatBalanceAlgorithm

The idd file shows what defaults are used.

\memo Determines which algorithm will be used to solve the zone air heat balance.
       \format singleLine
  A1 ; \field Algorithm
       \type choice
       \key ThirdOrderBackwardDifference
       \key AnalyticalSolution
       \key EulerMethod
       \default ThirdOrderBackwardDifference

Hi there,

I was wondering what sort of algorithm is used for calculating the zone heat balance. Iʼve noticed that itʼs an optional input but I am not sure what solution is been used in the solution manager when the field it is basically blank. In the input-output reference I found that ʽʼif the default algorithm is used the object is not requiredʼʼ. Iʼm not currently using any input in that particular field but I wanted to know which one is the default algorithm. Is the thirdOrderBackwardDifference used as default when the field is blank or a completely different algorithm?

Many thanks,
