Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Subsurface error

You would not get the subsurface not surrounded by base surface if there were too much area for the surface.

I believe you can ask more more details (Output:Diagnostics,DisplayAllWarnings;) and get more details about the problem.

Do you want to share the .idf file so I can take a look.

The other possibility in case you have more than one sub-surface for SURFACE 19 [which is probably is the case in your example since it called as SUB SURFACE
3] is that the total area of sub-surfaces is bigger than the area of the base surface.

It means your door is either not in the plane of the or it is too big for the wall.  Doors and windows must be slightly smaller than the wall they are in.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Subsurface error

I have the following error regarding a large door on a building wall. No matter how many times I try, I cannot get rid of it. I have ensured that the coordinates of the subsurface are indeed within the base surface. I have also checked and rechecked to ensure that the coordinates are in the right order (starting in the UpperLeftCorner and in a CounterClockwise direction as mandated by my GlobalGeometryRules settings).

** Warning ** Base surface does not surround subsurface (CHKSBS), Overlap Status=No-Overlap
** ~~~ ** The base surround errors occurred 1 times.
** ~~~ ** Surface "SURFACE 19" misses SubSurface "SUB SURFACE 3"

Anyone ever had this issue before?
