RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: AirTerminal:SingleDuct:ParallelPIU LEED ASHRAE

Dante,

I do not think I understand exactly what you need, but here is an example.

·         The schedule for the PFP is normally ON at all times.  Even though you specify ON, it will not operate unless the Air Loop of which it is a part is also operating.  (Normally that is determined by the Air Loop fan availability schedule.)

·         Typical (fan + motor) efficiency for the small fans used in a PFP is ~30-40% in my experience.  If you use 35%, fan pressure rise should be 260 Pa.  If you use 80%, 594 Pa (So, I think 740 Pa is too much.)

·         You will need a Fan:ConstantVolume object and a Coil:Heating:Electric object for the PFP similar to what I have shown below.

·         I show the “minimum volume” for primary flow as 30% in the example below.  You must calculate the minimum outdoor air requirement for the zone independently to see if it is larger than 30%.  If it is larger, then you must use that fraction instead of 30%.
