Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] BASELINE Centrifugal chiller partload performance curve

Table 6.8.1C shows the minimum "rated" COP, not data for the curves. This is the value you would use for Nominal COP in the chiller objects (for this example or any other chiller type modeled).

  Chiller:Electric,
    Central Chiller,         !- Name
    AirCooled,               !- Condenser Type
    autosize,                !- Nominal Capacity {W}
    3.2,                     !- Nominal COP {W/W}

The curves are another story completely and could not be created using 90.1. To be fair, I guess you could use the same curves as the proposed building (created from manufacturers data). Or if you know that the chiller manufacturer, size, type, etc. will change, then curves for each would be required (?).

There is a chiller data set file distributed with E+ in the DataSets folder (e.g., C:\EnergyPlusV7-2-0\DataSets).

You can't. With this table you can only produce a curve for COP of the chiller operating at maximum load (all be it at different water temps). Maybe James or Richard will tell me that I am wrong?

Hi,

Who can tell me how to generate the part load performance curve of centrifugal chiller according to ASHRAE STANDARD 90.1-2007 TABLE 6.8.1I?

Thank you.
