[EnergyPlus_Support] Solar Shading

Hello everyone!

I want to create a shading device (using either venetian blinds or roller shade) that is going to be activated for a setpoint of 200 W/m2 on the window for occupancy time (8-18). Also for winter days it will be fully retracted during no occupancy hours (exploiting solar gains) while for summer days it will be fully deployed during no occupancy hours (protection from overheating).

When i try to create a schedule for that kind of operation (in Schedule:compact) i cannot figure out how i can make the device to be fully deployed during the no occupancy summer days (i read in the I/O manual that a value of 0 deactivates shading control while for ay other value it is activated, it does not state though how it is fully deployed).

Can anybody provide me with some advice on that? Is maybe my approach incorrect?

Kind Regards
Michael
