[EnergyPlus_Support] outputting surface temperature

Hi all,
We are doing a comparative analysis between physical and digital simulation to measure the performance of different facade design.

We are all quite new to EPlus and my experience in EPlus has been limited to basic analysis of thermal zones to calculate energy consumption.

What we need to get out of EPlus is the profile of external and internal surface temperatures in order to measure the performance of the facade in regulating the heat transfer.

If we can get the surface temperatures from the inward and outward facing surfaces, then we assume we can calculate the difference that indicates the performance of the facade.

One building physics expert told us ePlus can only return a single number for surface temperature and a temperature profile through an element, so for a wall, it will give us a 1D slice through the wall, and he said that one way we can get the temperature distribution across the surface is to split the surfaces to very small elements and get the surface temperature of each. Is this correct?

If it's true, can you please advise us how we can prepare the simulation launch file and the required input and output parameters?

How to set up the IDF file to output the surface temperature, ignoring all the other requirements? i.e. we don't need to define any HVAC and electrical systems and operational schedules, we only need to define the materials, constructions, surfaces, and thermal zones, weather data of a single day (set to match the radiation temperature of the halogen lamp in our physical simulation), and then analyse the surface temperature and extract the heat transfer value.

Your help and advice are very much appreaciated.
