Dear All,
I am coming back with one last cry of desperation. I am trying to make the numbers in the metered file add up to the numbers in the HTML file and I just don't understand where they are coming from. So here is a quite background. I have a three zone model, two zones are building 1, one zone is building 2. I am trying to find out how much cooling building 1 is using and how much cooling building 2 is using. Both buildings are feed by the same chiller plant and AHU. They have chilled ceilings and radiators to condition the spaces. I have tried almost every output in the energyplus arsenal and I don't seem to get anywhere. Mostly I am using "Zone Air System Sensible Cooling Energy" in the custom meter. This gives me the sensible cooling energy for the spaces, BUT this doesn't equal the cooling energy in the ABUPS report in the and I can't for the life of me work out why. The "Zone Air System Sensible Cooling Energy" is reporting more energy being used than the ABUPS report. When I try to report "Zone Radiant HVAC Cooling Energy" as an output:variable it tells me there is energy being used but I can not put that variable in the custom meter and with this energy added on it just increases the cooling energy far above the number in the ABUPS report. One of the reasons why this is so important to me, is that LEED requires I model a building served by the same plant as three separate buildings. If I actually model them as three separate buildings I can not make the plant behave as it should. I have attached my sample file with the meters excel file and the html file. The help so far has been great and all help is gratefully appreciated (Jim Dirkes has already suggested a work around which is what I might have to try in the end but I am hoping we don't have to do so much post processing). Thank you once again. Annie

I saw that there is Zone Radiant HVAC Cooling Energy which I am hoping includes the energy used in the chilled ceilings. Also one more question, I see the zone system sensible cooling has changed to Zone Air System Sensible Cooling Rate, does this mean that this doesn't take into account radiant cooling energy in the zone?
Yes, that name was changed to better clarify what it really includes. It is the sum of conditioning provided by zone inlet nodes and never did include radiant cooling. __._,_.___ Primary EnergyPlus support is found at: http://energyplus.helpserve.com or send a message to energyplus-support@xxxxxxxx The primary EnergyPlus web site is found at: http://www.energyplus.gov The group web site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EnergyPlus_Support/ Attachments are currently allowed but be mindful that not everyone has a high speed connection.
