Ivan,

I suggest looking into the waterheater:mixed object. It has both source and use connections so it can receive the heated water from the solar collector, and it also has an internal heater (gas or electric) that can turn on when the recovered heat from solar collector does not meet the setpoint temperature.

I'm doing this with the example file "SolarCollectorFlatPlateWater", but can not turn on gas heating system to just only  the sun does not meet demand. Both are being used simultaneously.

In conclusion, I would like to know how to model the gas heating only when solar radiation is low.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem or could send me a IDF model?
