[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Internal Partitions do not participate in blocking solar radiation?

FullExterior mode works like this...after having calculated what energy is passed by the window, EVERYTHING falls on the FLOOR, and what is reflected by the floor (emissivity), is EVENLY AREA WEIGHTEDLY distrubuted to ALL the surfaces of the zone including interzone surfaces.

There's a bit of info in the io ref about interzone surfaces, which is what you are using. The way they "see" the other surfaces in the zone is a point to look up. Radiation can only be exchanged from one side of the surface from what I can remember...i.e. it is very important which way it is facing.

We were thinking of using them to employ chilled ceiling panels...

e+ support said "A floating surface also won't necessarily be properly resolved in terms of interior solar distribution and internal thermal radiation. ", but as PCMs and InternalSource can't be placed in InternalMass surfaces, this is your best bet.

And yes, then you need convex zones to use FullInteriorAndExterior.
