[EnergyPlus_Support] Building Energy Modeling StackExchange site -- phase II

Do you love the EnergyPlus Yahoo! group? Can you imagine a Web 2.0 version of EPYG that is more responsive, more navigable, and generally more helpful? Well, there is such a thing. The proposed Building Energy Modeling StackExchange site (http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/45232/building-performance-simulation-analysis).

Here's the catch, though. The site is currently in the "commmit" phase. It needs your help to graduate to "beta" and start performing its intended Q&A function. Here is what we need. 200 committers--we have 127 so far. 100 committers with reputations of 200+ on other StackExchange sites--we have 7 so far.

What can you do? First, commit to the site! That takes four seconds if you already have an account on Google, Facebook, or any other major site, six seconds if you don't. Second, get active on another StackExchange site. There are about 100 different ones (http://stackexchange.com/sites#). About half are about computer programming, but the rest are about less technical topics like travel, home improvement, personal finance, and LARPing! StackExchange awards 10 reputation points per "up vote" on a question or an answer. And a decent question or answer will usually get 3-4 votes in a day. Find a site that interests you, ask and answer some questions and you should be at 200 or above in about a week.

So get out there! Help out the energy modeling community, another community, and yourself.
