Note that we are working on an option to provide our hour-by-hour forecast data in EPW format along with actual data for user defined time periods which are less than a year.  Should be available in August.

Look at the Real-Time weather data.
http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/weatherdata_download.cfm

You will still need to convert it to an EPW format.

EnergyPlus needs more typical weather for simulations than real.

For other free sites, search the internet.  You will still need to convert them to epw format if you want to use in EnergyPlus -- conversion is described in the Auxiliary Programs document.
