[EnergyPlus_Support] External Roller Shade at 1.6 m from window

I have a roller blind...not against the window, but from the edge of an overhanging canopy about 1.6 meters away from the window.

Using an external shading surface will only reduce the direct radiation...will it reduce the diffuse radiation? (I think not)

Should it reduce the diffuse radiation? (I think somewhat)

Which options are the best to simulate this? (bearing in mind model applicability ranges...which I don't know)
