I think you are using the Openstudio Legacy plugin which is a little different than the Openstudio release. You might want to try the openstudio release v1.1.0 instead. NREL has a plethora of information on its youtube channel to get you started on the modeling process.

So, do you mean I can model any system with OpenStudio GUI or DesignBuilder with no need to deal with IDF Editor again?
