Please find the attached- it has an example of the simple solar model and is of an actual home in Ann Arbor MI- This file also has geothermal heating, earth tube cooling, low infiltration sprayfoam insulation, daylight controlled LED lights, occupant controlled blinds and phase change materials. The model used for PCM's is not the standard that ships with Energy Plus, (I devoloped the model used in this file) ((You will need to delete the MaterialPropertyPhaseChangeDualCurve object for this file to run)) (((You could also find examples in the E+ example folder or spreadsheet for a solar model)))

Attached is an example.. 
The simple solar model is well, simple and does not take much inputs, for the one diode and sandea models are more complex, but you can use the databases of inputs that comes with E+. The simple model works well for most situations. How it works, you have a surface that the PV is on, (and can also create shading objects), then connect to a load center and inverter. The simple inverter type seems to work alright as well.. 

However, if you want to model complex tracking systems or complex incentives I highly recommend you look into System Advisor Model:  https://sam.nrel.gov/
It is based on TRNSYS and has great cash flow and finance models built in.
