Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] EMS Control Zone Airflow

Thanks for the feedback. Will I need to create a User Defined Air Duct and User Defined Reheat Coil to implement my control strategy? Right now I'm trying to control the VAV created using the HVAC Template expanded.

Hi Max, if the EDD lists the inlet node as an actuator then it should work. I would send the file to the helpdesk. I have successfully controlled a VAV terminal's opening factor in v7, so if the node actuator is giving problems, you might try that.

Goodluck,

Hi,

I am trying to write a control strategy that modifies the supply air flow to a specific zone based on its occupancy. I've created the necessary sensors, actuators, program and calling point (afterPredictorafterHVACmanagers). However the supply airflow to the zone does not follow my program. My EDD reports the correct logic, but it is just not controlling the airflow.

Are there problems using a zone air inlet node as an actuator? I've tried changing the calling point, but it has not worked. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Max
